2008 Quilt

[Under Construction]

2008 Reunion Commemorative Quilt

This is a commemorative quilt for the crew of the USS Callaghan.  It will be part of the raffle at the Friday evening dinner during the 2008 reunion (raffle tickets $1).  It has a Kent feed sack in the center from 1945 that depicts scenes of WWII - these feed sacks were produced at that time to honor and support the war effort.

The names are of the men lost at sea from the sinking of the USS Callaghan DD792 are embroidered on the quilt along with the date of the fateful event. The embroidery alone took 12 hours and the rest of the quilt was completed over a 4 month period of time.   This queen size quilt was made and donated by Marlys Gaede.
